Hey look,
i'm an associate of the CoIntelligenceInstitute!
I'm off to Hambantota (here in SriLanka) tomorrow morning to do
election monitoring. I'll try to get you a picture of me wearing the glowing armband and hat...
Finally, the wiki i've been working on (not enough obviously) for the NationalCoalitionForDialogueAndDeliberation is close enough to ready to mention and point to. We haven't yet nailed down the copyright statement, there's all kinds of tweaks i'd like to do, and i have concerns about the vast quantity of stuff we've seeded it with. Just think of it as being in beta, and come help us never finish it - http://wiki-thataway.org/
Ah, so that's where you'll be. Funny, I was at the PAFFREL office there just a coupla days ago myself. You should definitely get a picture with the radioactive armband, at least before it permanently modifies your DNA. --

"'I think the way he has responded to al Qaeda, both before 9/11 by doing nothing, and by what he's done after 9/11, has made us less safe,' said Clarke, who was Bush's top counterterrorism expert until he resigned in February 2003 after serving in every U.S. government since the Reagan administration."
Ouch,
that's gotta hurt.

Meet the Press video
From Richard Clarke's Sept 11 Commission testimony: "
...by invading Iraq, the president of the United States has greatly undermined the war on terrorism." I probably disagree with this man about many things, but I made this MP3 and have been playing it over and over again. There's something very affirming about hearing my own belief echoed by a mainstream, very-high-ranking Bush administration counterterrorism official. (i had written "Republican" earlier, but he keeps saying he's independent in interviews)
Evidence he's right:
More al Qaeda attacks after than before Sept 11, 2001

You have one chance left so run, do not walk, to the
British Council by 7:30pm tonight to see the Stages Theatre Group put on Two Times Two is Two (written & directed by Ruwanthie Chickera). Just trust me on this, i'm not just biased because a friend was in it, i saw it last night and i'm not going to give anything away here other than to say it's a very human, very enlivening show. They've been invited to perform it on the opening night of the National Drama Festival in India later this month (tonight's show is a fundraiser to help them get there), so obviously many other people think it's a pretty great too.

Blosxom 3.0 (simple yet powerful FreeOpenSoftware for your WebLog) is
coming soon - "I'll release something in the next few days." --Rael Dornfest
And somehow, i missed the
release of ChandLer 0.3 last month. This is the last one focused so exclusively on developers &innermost workings; 0.4 (later this year) promises to start putting some attention on actual end-user functionality.
Update: Groove 3.0 is apparently coming soon.
Stowe Boyd reviews the beta, glowingly (from
Suite 75). If only 1) there were MacOsx and Linux versions, and 2) it were FreeOpenSoftware. ObWiki?: FlashHyki? is a Flash-based WikiWiki for Groove. The "Hy" is short for Hydra, the original name for what is now known as SubEthaEdit, the live multi-person text editing software. Hey
John, it uses your Groove web services! </geekoff>

A movement in SanFrancisco ? to develop Neighborhood Assemblies is gathering steam. Next meeting is Sunday, March 28, 6-9 pm at Columbia Park Boys & Girls Club 450 Guerrero St (betw 16th & 17th). They're also planning a series of workshops on practices such assemblies could use that are more inclusive, participatory and self-organizing than the usual community meetings you might think of. They've mentioned WorldCafe, OpenSpace, FutureSearch ?, NonviolentCommunication, DynamicFacilitation ?, AppreciativeInquiry, CitizenDeliberativeCouncils, and you can probably expect more of the other things you can expect to read and write about in the NcddWiki (remember, the NationalCoalitionForDialogueAndDeliberation's new WikiWiki which i asked for help with back in December? - it will, really truly, be open to y'all RealSoonNow ?!)

I thought i would avoid commenting on the recent round of Jesus discussion prompted by the Mel Gibson film. But a
discussion thread in response to this
prompting Real Live Preacher post got me going and i wrote a longish bit about the Jesus story offering an alternative to the MythOfRedemptiveViolence ?, and original sin. Unfortunately, for some reason my comment refuses to post there, so it's at RedemptiveLoveAndOriginalNonSin.

How I Explained REST to My Wife
Clear, step by step explanation. If I had a wife (or husband) who wasn't geeky but was interested, I'd totally send them this.

Site design that's pretty good for any screen size (on NPR shows)
It's a sample SproutCore app, but a (admittedly quick) look at Sproutcore suggests that what i like about this sample is less about Sproutcore, and more about what's been done with it in this example.
