There's a lot of noise and fill-in-the-blank-backs about threading blog conversations, which of course wikis handle completely differently by:

avoiding conversation
'thread' any text, including conversation to appropriate page and appropriate part of page.
refactor the conversation away when it's gotten wherever it needed to go

Many people find it easier to blog.

Many people want their words to remain identifiably theirs. (This is actually accomplished to a certain degree in many wikis through comprehensive page histories.)
